What went well in 2025

Launch of Carbon Insetting Programme
At the start of 2025 we launched Regenagri’s pioneering Carbon Insetting Programme.

By the end of the year, it covered 358,593 hectares of land across 8 countries and 5 continents, spanning 30 crops including cotton, coffee, soya bean and wheat.
Launch of Regenagri Consultant Qualification
In February, we launched our qualified consultant training, designed for professionals who want to become Regenagri programme experts.

The training equips consultants and farming organisations with the required knowledge to effectively implement the Regenagri certification programme.
Appointment of Prof. Rattan Lal as Regenagri’s Global Ambassador
In June we welcomed eminent soil scientist Rattan Lal as Regenagri’s Global Ambassador, honouring his decades-long contribution to the fields of soil science and regenerative agriculture.

He said: “Regenagri stands for innovative farming systems which transform agroecosystems into a part of the solution to restore degraded soils, mitigate climate change, strengthen biodiversity, improve the environment and advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals”.

We look forward to receiving Prof. Lal’s input and guidance on our standards-development programme as we continue to grow.
International Cooperative Alliance joined the Regenagri board
In June, we also expanded our board, welcoming the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) as our second shareholder alongside Solidaridad Asia.

Representing cooperatives worldwide, the ICA provides a global voice, knowledge forum, expertise and coordinated action for and about cooperatives.

ICA Director General Jeroen Douglas said: “Our collaboration with Regenagri strengthens ICA’s role as a driver of green transformation while showcasing the cooperative model as a powerful force for environmental and social impact.”
Launch of Asia Advisory Group
In July, we launched the first of our regional Regenagri advisory groups, the Asia Advisory Group. It brings together individuals and companies from around the continent with a shared interest in scaling the adoption of regenerative farming.

Our regional groups allow us to develop a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the agricultural and economic contexts where we operate.
First Regenagri-certified rubber
In July, True Foam Pvt Ltd became the first Regenagri-certified rubber farm, with 111 certified farms across 151 hectares in Sri Lanka.

Migara Tennakoon, CEO of True Foam, said:  "Our transition to regenerative agriculture is fundamentally about systemic healing. For decades, the industry viewed soil merely as a resource to extract from, leaving farming communities highly vulnerable.

"By embracing Regenagri, we are proving that environmental stewardship and premium manufacturing are deeply connected. When we empower our farmers to restore their land through agroforestry, we don't just secure a sustainable supply chain for True Foam – we secure the future of the Monaragala community and deliver a product of unmatched, traceable integrity to the global market."

Partnership with Regenerative Organic Alliance
In October we announced our lead-partner role in Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA)’s Journey to ROC™ pilot.

This initiative guides farmers and brands on a structured path toward achieving Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC™) status, with Regenagri acting as the required certification in that path.

Christopher Gergen, CEO of the Regenerative Organic Alliance said: “At ROA, we believe the future of regenerative agriculture depends on collaboration and integrity.

"Our partnership with Regenagri supports a more aligned ecosystem through The Journey to ROC™, and in 2025 we were encouraged by the growing momentum and the potential to scale impact together in the years ahead.”

Solidaridad Asia and WWF-India launch Regenagri Fast Track Cotton Initiative
Backed by a €6 million target fund, the Regenagri Fast Track Cotton Initiative launched in autumn 2025 with the goal of bringing one million hectares of farmland under the Regenagri programme while supporting cotton farmers in India to transition to agricultural practices that promote long-term climate resilience.

This collaboration highlights the power of cross-organisational work to provide support, assurance, and impact for all stakeholders during their collective transition to regenerative agriculture.
USA growers workshop and training
In November, we hosted our first regional farm training session in Texas, USA.

As our programme continues to gain momentum among brands, retailers, supply chains and farms in the USA, this provided a great opportunity to discuss the finer details of the programme and receive important feedback from farm partners.
Launch of Carbon Insetting Platform
Also in November, we launched our Carbon Insetting Platform: a fundamental element of our pioneering Carbon Insetting Programme.

The platform gives participating farms and companies access to a personalised dashboard of programme-related data, including details of carbon units generated, and carbon unit transactions.

Partnership with WWF-Pakistan
We partnered with WWF-Pakistan to scale regenerative agriculture across Punjab’s Bahawalpur region.

Thanks to this initiative, 189 farms, spanning more than 680 hectares, achieved Regenagri certification. This underscores a growing movement towards more sustainable, resilient farming systems in South Asia.
Collaboration with the Soil Health Institute
We were pleased to establish a collaboration with the Soil Health Institute.  As a non-profit organisation focused on advancing soil health through scientific research, standardised measurement, and grower education, the Soil Health Institute is a leading authority in sustainable land management.

This strategic engagement brings together Regenagri’s global framework for farm-level verification and supply chain transparency with the Soil Health Institute’s world-class expertise in soil science and standardised metrics.

By connecting our scalable certification platform with their research-backed approach, we are creating a strong foundation to align rigorous soil science with real-world agricultural practices as we explore future opportunities to drive measurable, verified impact together.
highlights
Growing recognition among brands and supply chains
The number of brands and supply chains choosing to adopt Regenagri continues to grow. In 2025, 2,278 supply chain companies were Regenagri-certified, an increase of 80.71% from 2024.

In 2025, we licensed 12 more global brands (5 were licensed in 2024). This is a great sign of growing recognition of the Regenagri programme, globally and across different products.
Strengthening our programme
While continuing to expand engagement with stakeholders and adoption of the Regenagri programme, we remained focused on strengthening the core programme, including our standards, assurance mechanisms, and data platforms.

To do this, we analysed our standards and assurance systems in terms of programme performance, identifying areas for improvement, collecting feedback from stakeholders, and developing a long-term roadmap.

This will ensure our re-shaped programme remains effective and rigorous whilst ensuring scalability, data focus, and ensuring compliance with the latest regulations (such as the EU's Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive), when it comes to claims.

Strengthening our communications
In 2025 we also laid the foundations for stronger communications, with a focus on partner engagement and consumer awareness.

Our plans include regular campaigns on topics surrounding regenerative agriculture, and a refreshed digital presence where we will grow brand awareness and share engaging content for our audience throughout supply chains, from farms to consumers.
